To: Whoever this may concern
It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter. I spoke with Renee last night. At that time Renee advised me that she has a wonderful opportunity to work in Indonesia. While I will be sad to see her leave to such a faraway place, I am thrilled for her. I understand from what Renee has told me, that she will be asked to assist with the developmental process of an addictions centre.
Renee has asked if I could write her a letter of reference. I would like to do more than that and write a letter of recommendation instead.
I have known Renee for quite some time. I have had the privilege of watching this determined lady build a solid reputation for herself in the city of Calgary. Renee began to do contract work for my company in early 1995. She has helped me on a number of consultation projects. Some of those projects include developing a national standard of practice for Aboriginal Addictions workers, and a relapse prevention project for Aboriginal inmates.
I wrote both of those programs while Renee provided all of the technical support. It was a pleasure working with Renee in that she was always able to develop these documents as I needed them. The documents were always very professional and well done.
In addition to this, Renee has provided all the technical support for my own business. She has had to be very patient with me. My technical skills are limited. This was never a problem for Renee, she always rose to any challenge.
I was the I/Executive Director for the Society Of Aboriginal Addictions Recovery (SOAAR) in 1997. Renee provided all of the technical support to develop our national newsletter. At the time, she also provided the necessary technical support to the organization for Internet skills teaching of all staff.
I have listed some of the work that Renee has completed for me. However; she has done much more than this. She has gone beyond what any employer would expect, even going so far as to develop and deliver a document late into the night because I had to catch an early plane to Ottawa “with” the document.
She continues to be a source of support to me even though we are some distance apart. I am grateful to have this opportunity to express my gratitude to Renee, by providing her with this letter of recommendation. She is certain to be an asset to your organization. I will be sad to see her leave, but overjoyed for her success.
If you should need further clarification, please feel free to contact this writer at the above address, fax, or E-mail.
